Er komt heel wat bij kijken om vanuit China op bezoek te komen in Nederland:
(sorry is in het Engels. Overgenomen van de site van het ministerie van buitenlandse zaken.)
Short stay visa (max. 90 days in 6 months) for:
Tourist visa to visit family / friends
Where to apply:
* Residents of the Mainland China can apply at the Embassy in Beijing or the Consulates General in Shanghai or Guangzhou, regardless of where their passport or Hukou was issued.
* Residents of the SAR of Hong Kong and the SAR Macao can apply at the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Hong Kong
* Residents of the Republic of Mongolia should apply for a visa for the Netherlands at the German Embassy in Ulaan Baatar . Only if the German Embassy confirms to you in writing that your application could not be accepted, you can apply at the Netherlands Embassy in Beijing.
IMPORTANT: If you need to submit legalised Notary Certificates, please note:
* Notary certificates are only accepted if the notary mentions clearly on which document or statement he based his certificate, and adds a certified copy of that document to the certificate.
* If you apply for your visa at the Embassy or Consulate in the same region as that covers the region of your Hukou registration, your notary certificates only have to be legalised by MFA.
* If you apply in a different Dutch representation, your notary certificates have to be legalised by MFA and by the Embassy or Consulate that covers the region of your Hukou registration.
The main destination of your visit must be the Netherlands, but the visa issued will permit you to travel in all Schengen countries (unless stated otherwise on the visa): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
All visa application must be done in person, excepted persons who had of two or more visas for the Netherlands in the last 2 years can apply through a messenger (with a written authorisation of the applicant)
A non-refundable handling fee of 60 Euros must be paid upon acceptation of your file.
The fee is to be paid in RMB at the exchange rate published at the Embassy/Consulate General
Only complete visa application files will be examined.
If a file is incomplete, you will receive a list of missing documents and a delay for completing the file. If the file is not completed, the visa will be refused.
The decision can be picked up after 3 working days, if the application is complete,
If you cannot pick up the decision yourself, you can give your pick-up note with a written and signed authorisation letter to another person.:
If the visa has been approved, Passport with visa will be issued;
If additional documents are needed, Passport can be left or taken back with a list of missing documents and a delay. If the file is not completed in time, the visa may be refused.
If the visa has been refused, Passport is given back with an official refusal letter. You can apply again or appeal against the decision, following the instructions in the refusal letter.
If the application has been sent to the authorities in the Netherlands for decision, Passport can be left or taken back. You will be contacted when the decision has been received. (This generally takes 2 to 4 weeks, with a maximum of 3 months)
A visa does not automatically give you the right to enter Schengen territory. Make sure you keep a copy of the documents you submit with your visa application, for you may be asked by migration officers to provide this information in addition to your valid passport, visa and medical travel insurance.
The length of your stay in the Schengen countries is limited to the number of days indicated on your visa, even if your visa-sticker has a longer validity! If you have a visa with multiple entries, the indicated number of days is the maximum for all your visits together, in the validity period of your visa-sticker. If you travel frequently, this may never exceed 90 days in a six month period, even if your visa is valid for one or more years. If you overstay, you risk a two year visa sanction for all Schengen countries. If your want to stay in the Netherlands more than 90 days per six months, you must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (MVV).

Ondanks dit alles hopen we dat tijdens ons huwelijk in ieder geval ook Yanli’s ouders erbij kunnen zijn.
